My favorite place for donuts in Geneva on the Lake

I am in my 70's and have been going to "The, Lake" since I was a kid. I have also been known to make a donut run just to get Madsen's. Yesterday was my first of the season. Bit into a glazed on the way home to Cleveland and something just tasted different. The Madsen flavor wasn't there. Same with the other donuts and cream sticks. Not sure I would do another Madsen's run. Just saying.

Always have great doughnuts. It has been a generational tradition for my family to eat here. I would absolutely recommend the cream sticks here. They're a little bit greasy, but I can't express to you how good they are. It's fried dough, so what do you expect?

Since 1938 this place has provided people from all around the world with amazingly delicious donuts. Made fresh there everyday. All different types. You haven't had a donut until you have been here.

Donuts always fresh, the "cream sticks" are the bomb!...the milk pairs well, because it is ice cold. Only advice is get here early because they sell out daily and when they're gone, they're gone till the next day.

The donuts are simple but yummy. Wish they had more options, but they're good. My family was so happy to go since they used to go to Madsen when they were younger. My jelly filled donut was really stuffed with jelly ,which was super tasty.

3 generations of our family have enjoyed their super delicious donuts. We drove 1400 miles to arrive today to get our fix of this delicious sugary confection. Even in todays times, we were able to get in, and pick up 2 dozen for the family get together.

Similar to a Crispy Creme When the light is on the window saying fresh donuts being made!!! The donuts remind me of that but they are different. Super fresh tasting! I'm a pastery nut and this place is awesome!!!

So i have been waiting to try these donuts for almost 6 months....today i finally got here....the jelly (raspberry) donuts are. Delicious! super tender dough ..filled perfectly lightly sugar dusted .. Cinnamon sugar cake donuts are by far the best of the best i love them!! I may be sneaking out in morning to grab a few to go with my coffee .Great Donuts!!!🍩🍩🍩

Another icon of the GOTL strip. There is usually a line out the door, but it moves quickly. Don't worry about forgetting this place. You will see many of the blue and white boxes being carried around the area.Fresh and tasty, you must get one to eat there and then some to go!They have both, raised and cake donuts, to please all tastes.

When I was little, my grandpa would get donuts from here, every day for a week (we would spend a week at Geneva-on-Lake from the time I was a baby, until I was about 8). They were great when I was little, and they're still great!

Madsen Donuts is one of the staples of the Geneva-on-the-lake strip. It’s smack in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the busy area, and there’s always a line. We went early in the morning and found it less crowded. They have a great assortment of baked goods and great coffee as well. You’d be hard pressed to walk more than 100 feet without seeing someone carrying a Madsen Donuts box. Make sure to visit if you’re in the area but try to go early!

Been going here since I was a young kid, 20+ years of good experiences, good service, and even better donuts. Try to come early, if they run out of donuts for the day, they close up. Every single thing I have had from here has been fresh and delicious thanks to this being a place that sticks to their roots no matter what, and would rather sell nothing at all than something subpar.

Family owned and operated, A true staple of Geneva on the lake. Very well worth the wait in line which happens every morning. Gotta try the cream sticks

Always great. We make excuses to ride our harley to Geneva on the lake just to get madsens.

Madsens is the only consistent thing in life. The last 2 times I was there was 1972 and 2004 and nothing has changed since then! Thank God! I went today and their donuts are the best there are. I will drive there soon even though it’s 2 1/2 hours to pick up donuts, they are that good!

Absolutely lovely, fluffy, and light. I am in love with their donuts 🍩 . My favorite is the chocolate dipped donut. The number of people waiting outside this small store can speak for itself.
